Local HTML Accessibility Checker

Inspect a saved HTML file for common WCAG problems. The preview blocks scripts and remote content.

Local: yes. Your input stays on your device and is not sent to an external service for this tool.

Maximum 1 MB. Use your browser Save As HTML, or export your page source.

Only your local HTML is analysed with a bundled axe-core engine. External styles, images, scripts and interactions are disabled.

What is tested?

Automated axe-core WCAG A/AA checks on a static HTML snapshot. The tool highlights likely markup issues and provides a JSON report. Automated tests do not cover all WCAG requirements.

Important limitations

This is NOT a live website scanner or a compliance certificate. We intentionally remove external CSS, image sources, embedded media, scripts and interactive behaviour so the file cannot request external resources while inspected. This can change which accessibility issues are detectable. Test your live website separately with a trusted browser extension and manual keyboard/screen-reader testing.

Privacy

The HTML file stays on your device. Axe-core and its dependencies are served by GratisTools, not a third-party service.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Accessibility review runs with JavaScript and WebAssembly running in your browser tab. Your files are read from your device and the results are created on your device; nothing is sent to gratistools.be or anyone else, which is also why there are no queues, daily limits or watermarks. See the privacy page.
