How is my sector developing?

The official monthly Statbel NACE 2025 dataset is retrieved automatically and cached in the browser. Select the activity in plain language (or enter a NACE code under Advanced) to inspect available counts of starts, cessations and active businesses by month. Some official datasets use a long format: in that case raw indicator labels and values remain visible rather than assuming an undocumented meaning.

Limitations

Data arrives around 45 days after the reference month. Registered VAT businesses are not the same as all employees or all establishments. Compare the same NACE level and a consistent period; some codes are revised or reclassified. This tool does not forecast insolvencies or personal business outcomes.
