How to verify a Belgian food operator
The official FAVV operator list downloads automatically and is cached in the browser. The PAP activity list and Smiley list are also fetched automatically as separate open datasets. Enter an enterprise or establishment number, municipality, postcode or a name from the optional Smiley list. For full company-name search use the official Foodweb directory. Smiley matching uses the establishment ID; the source does not provide company names and is not an inspection history.
What the open data can and cannot prove
Results reflect the cached official source files, including the date on which they were retrieved. The FAVV list records registered operators, activities and authorisations; it is not a real-time licence validation or a report of inspection outcomes. The browser retrieval date is not the FAVV publication date. Always verify sensitive decisions against Foodweb.
